Externs

Every month we host a student from one of the veterinary schools throughout the world. They are senior students taking time off from their clinical rotation in order to get experience in a private practice. Since we have a heavy caseload they are able to augment their university education and gain confidence before they graduate.

Our current extern is Joann. She is completing her senior year at Michigan State. She loves California and is a welcome addition to our team.

Her special interests include internal medicine and  exotic animal medicine, wildlife, and surgery.

Joann is learning how to listen to the heart of  a bird that is part of our wildlife program.
