Stomatitis (Lymphocytic/plasmacytic)

2024-11-30T19:22:27-08:00August 2nd, 2024|Cats|

Introduction This disease goes by several names. Some of them are faucitis and infectious stomatits. What is Stomatitis in Cats? Feeding Tubes

2024-11-28T13:48:44-08:00August 2nd, 2024|Cats|

Introduction In comparison to people, feeding tubes in animals are not routinely used in terminal cases to prolong life. Fortunately, the overwhelming majority of seizures are not life-threatening, and most pets can live a relatively normal life. Cats and other species also get seizures, but not as frequently as dogs. There is a type of seizure status epilepticus that is a medical emergency. These are the pets that

Scaling and Polishing Teeth

2024-08-06T07:30:38-07:00August 2nd, 2024|Tips|

Proper dental care involves more than just scraping tartar off the teeth. Thorough dental care involves scaling, probing and polishing. These can only be accomplished on an anesthetized pet. It is not realistic to think that somebody can scrape tartar off of an awake pet and be as thorough as we can on an anesthetized pet. When these procedures are performed properly we can reverse the gingivitis process and keep the teeth and gums healthier for a longer period of time. Scaling & Polishing Scaling teeth is greatly facilitated by a special instrument called an ultrasonic scaler. By vibrating tartar off the
